Process:
A common mistake could be misunderstanding your usernames and what are they for. Here you’ll find some things to take into consideration to understand better which username works for what and how to identify them.
Admin Username:
You have an Admin Username for the Account HUB and the Software.
The username also grants admin control of the software but won’t give you access to prepare returns.
This username is located on the ticket titled “TSP-YOUR BUSINESS NAME-YOUR MASTER EFIN”.
This username is created and provided by us.
Normally the username includes the word ADMIN.
Your password for your Admin Username will be the same for the Account HUB and the Software. This means that if you change the password in the Software it will be automatically modified on the Account HUB, and vice versa. We strongly recommend updating your Password Manager if you modify the password in the Account HUB or the Software.
When you log in to the Software with this username you’ll have the “Select Another Office” option displayed.
Preparer Username:
This username is created by you.
This username doesn’t work for the Account HUB.
The username doesn’t grant admin control of the software but gives you access to prepare returns.
This username is located inside of the Office, in the Preparer Setup section.
If you log in to the Software with this username you’ll have the “Start New YEAR Tax Return” option displayed.
