ProWeb: How to Set Up the Topaz Signature Pad

Before you can begin using your 
Topaz Signature Pad with ProWeb you will first need to download and install the Topaz SigWeb software. To do this, follow the guide below:

Note: Do not plug in the signature pad until installation is complete.

  1. Download SigWeb at the Topaz website.

  2. Close all open web browsers (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

  3. Locate the SigWeb installer file that downloaded (typically in the Downloads directory). Right-click SigWeb installer and select “Run as Administrator”.

  4. Follow Topaz's instructions. In the course of installation, you'll need to enter model number of your signature pad. Do so in the fields provided.

  5. After the installation is complete, plug in the signature pad.

  6. Test your signature pad with the SigWeb Demo here:
    www.sigplusweb.com/sigwebtablet_demo.html.

  7. Click “Sign” and sign on the signature pad. Your signature will appear in the signature box.

  8. Once done, close the demo browser tab.

After installing SigWeb and verifying that it works at the demo site, configure your ProWeb office to use the Topaz Signature Pad.

To do this, from the Welcome Page of your ProWeb office select:

  • Select Office > Access the Office you are trying to set up

  • Configuration

  • Office Setup



  • Look for the "Use Topaz Signature Pad" check box and check it:

After getting the signature pad set up, you will be able to use it as an alternative to the mouse for both the preparer's signature and the taxpayer's signature.

Troubleshooting

When you plug in the signature pad, be sure Windows recognizes that you plugged it in.

If the signature pad is new, be sure to remove the plastic film over the writing surface before testing the writing surface.

If the signature pad test in step 6 doesn't work, clear the browser cache and temporary files, then close all open browser windows before reopening the browser. If that's not successful, try a different web browser.
