ProWeb: How To Get A Second EFIN

 

This should show you How you could get a secondary EFIN if you are an existing EFIN holder.
Having a secondary EFIN or multi EFINS comes in handy if you have multi-offices when you have multi-locations or when your current EFIN is logged in by a service bureau and you are unable to transfer that volume.   


Login to IRS


πŸ‘‰  Click  Individual , then Click  Submit

On the next page after you click Submit > Click on New Application > e-File Application.


 

Once it takes you to this screen,

  1. Fill out your Tax Business information

  1. EIN or Social which is applicable to you. 

Firm/Organization Legal Name - You need to put in the same name and information as your previous EFIN.

For the Address, Take note that in your 2nd application, you’d want to check the address in the 1st or other application on how the addresses are spelled,

For the initial application, β€œAvenue” was abbreviated as β€œAve”, so for this 2nd application, We’ll be using β€œAvenue”, Same goes with Street/St ; Suite/STE etc keeping the City, Zip and State the same. 

This is extremely important because a minor change as this - is enough for the system to distinguish that you are a new office or a new location.

πŸ‘‰ It would typically take upto 2-3 days for it to get approved.

πŸ‘‰ Once you log back into the IRS, and you see that the EFIN you applied for is already Active,
 you may now pull in that information and send it to your SBA representative in order to set up your new profile.
