ProWeb: Fees Summary In A Return

Description: This article will break down the total fees and provide the formula to apply this in every return.

Process:

Here you will find step-by-step instructions on how to apply the formula to understand the Fee Total in a return.

Formula:
Preparer Fee + Bank Fee + SB Fee + Transmission Fee Total + Doc Prep Fee = Fee total

  • Important details to keep in mind before applying the formula:

    • This is the Bank Fees per bank:

      1. TPG Fee: $44.95

      2. RA Fee: $39.95

    • For TPG, if you chose to charge any amount for the Doc Prep Fee, you need to remember that TPG also charges an extra amount depending on the amount you selected. Here is the Fee Range:

TPG Example:

  1. Let’s use the following picture as an example. The total amount is $578.95.

  2. In this scenario the bank used is TPG, so we have a Bank Fee of $44.95

  3. We have a Service Bureau Fee of $75 and a Transmission Fee Total of $99.

  4. We also have a Doc Prep Fee of $10 (The $5 selected to charge + TPG's fee).

  5. The Preparer Fee added in the return is $350.

  6. So let’s do the math:
    Transmission fee: $99 + SB fee: $75 + Doc prep fee: $10 + Prep fee: $350 + Bank fee: $ 44.95 = $578.95

Now let’s try an example with RA.

RA Example:

  1. Let’s use the following picture as an example. The total amount is $568.95.

  2. In this scenario the bank used is RA, so we have a Bank Fee of $39.95

  3. We have a Service Bureau Fee of $75 and a Transmission Fee Total of $99.

  4. We also have a Doc Prep Fee of $5.

  5. The Preparer Fee added in the return is $350.

  6. So let’s do the math:
    Transmission fee: $99 + SB fee: $75 + Doc prep fee: $5 + Prep fee: $350 + Bank fee: $ 39.95 = $568.95

You can apply the formula in every return you need to.
