Account Hub : Replace Compromised EFIN

Description: This article will provide instructions on what to do when you get a new EFIN from the IRS which will replace the previous EFIN. 


Process:

If you need this process done before tax season starts, please submit a ticket and provide the following information:


  • The subject of the ticket must be: Replace EFIN and the old EFIN number.

    • Example: Replace EFIN -123456

  • The category of the ticket must be: EFINS:: Updating EFINs

  • Your Master EFIN.

  • The old EFIN.

  • The new EFIN.

  • Brief context (EFIN compromised, typo while entering the EFIN, etc)

If you need this process done after tax season starts, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your HUB using your Admin credentials.
    Click
    View in Manage Locations or Click Manage Locations on the left side of your screen.



  2. Click Add Location.



  3. Fill in all the details of the New EFIN.

  1. Click Save All.



  2. Now Click View in Manage Banking or Click Manage Banking on the left side of your screen.



  3. Find the location you just created.

  4. Click on the bank name you want to enroll with, located on the right side of the screen.


  1. Fill in all the details of the New Bank Enrollment.

  2. Submit the bank application.


  1. Now open your Software Login Link. Log in using your Admin credentials.




  1.  Click Select Office on the left side of your screen.



  2. Locate the Office that has the Old EFIN, from the list, and Click the ACCESS button on the right side of the screen.



  3. Click Configuration.



  4. Click ERO Setup.



  5. Click Add ERO.


  1.  Fill in the requested information. Use the information of the New EFIN.

    1. To obtain the customer ID, simply go back to your HUB and Click View in Manage Locations or Click Manage Locations on the left side of your screen.




  • Locate the New Location you just created.

  • Click the pencil icon on the right side of your screen.

  • Below the IRS tracking number, you’ll see the Customer ID. You only need to copy from there and paste it into the software.



  1. Click Continue.


  1. Now locate the previous ERO with the Old EFIN.

  2. Click Edit on the right side of your screen.


  1.  Locate and uncheck the box -  marking Active.



  1. Click Continue.

      



After this process, the new EFIN will be linked to the previous office and all the info will remain the same.
